"[...]
I ended up booking a Bucharest city tour (6 hours) and on the
following day, a tour of the Translyvanian Alps (10 hours) with
a company called RoCultours. I had a
guide (Maria) and a driver. Maria spoke excellent english and
was very knowledgeable about Romania's history, architecture,
art etc. She was also able to tell me lots of interesting
stories about the Romanian people, how things were back in the
days of Ceaucescu and how the country is emerging now. She was
very responsive to my initial emails and was happy to tailor
both tours to include things which interested me. She even
brought along sandwiches for the journeys.
For a private tour, with two people's wages for two days,
plus fuel and entry fees, I found RoCultours to be excellent
value for money. If you're considering a trip to Romania and
want to get the best out your limited time, then I would highly
recommend contacting RoCultours."

Day Tours in Bucharest

"If you're looking to arrange your
own tour of Bucharest or the surrounding area, I give my highest
possible recommendation to
RoCultours/CTI. As an academic touring company, you get an
in-depth exploration of the things you see rather than just sitting
on a bus as somebody points things out to you. This makes a world of
difference when compared to the usual organized tour, and also
allows for customization that would otherwise be impossible (I
provided a list of things that were important to me, and they
somehow found a way to make it all happen... like magic!).
RoCultours/CTI came highly recommended to me, and I'm happy to pass
along this "find" to anybody who ends up here looking for
information on Bucharest."
